After a week of heat with most days sitting around the 40 degree mark, only a small group of die hards hit the dusty trails to face the elements. Choko was nominated to lead the ride out and ensure the group all went in the same direction. He was a little worried but took on the challenge like the brave CQer he is. Well done Choko for a fine job on your first real lead. That's a ROTD award from me.

It was pretty dusty and although not too hot it was humid to the point where the goggles fogged the moment you stopped. We spread ourselves apart and followed Choko al the way down to the start of the creek where we had a break and a chat about the day so far. Kirky had been having some trouble up the steep rutted hills but had managed to stay upright nearly all the way there. He had a couple of restarts after stalling and it soon reminds you how good that electric leg is while watching someone kick a bike while perched at a precarious angle.

Neil was in good form today and was spotted several times with the throttle twisted hard. He likes a good ride and obviously has that competitive streak. Col Mac got up close to Kirky on the goat trail and didn't see a 90 degree rut in the dust and came down at a reasonable speed. His dismount was fairly graceful and it didn't take him long to get back on his feet and fire up the 450. The off was good enough though to pick up the prestigious SOTD award.

Col Mac took over the lead for the return trip and led us away from the main line and followed some nice flowing trails that have been ridden several times before. Peter did a top job at the rear and made sure everyone was safe.

Sorry Adrian - Not the best ride I have ever been on but it sure beats going food shopping with the misses on a Saturday morning.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GET SMACKED IN THE FACE WITH A BRANCH

CHOKO IS SO EXCITED ABOUT LEADING THE RIDE HE ALMOST WET HIMSELF

PETE WORKS HIS WAY UP THROUGH THE DEEP RUTS.

COL MAC DOESN'T QUIET MAKE IT - PETE MUST BE A HEAPS BETTER RIDER!!!!!

KIRKY WENT UP WITHOUT EVEN BREAKING INTO A SWEAT.
