The last CQ Metro ride was on the 7 October 2007. Metro is not a place you want to go riding in the summer but once it cools down it is fantastic. 20 riders turned out for a loop around some familiar country to take in lots of goat trails, fire trails and 3.4 million whoops.

I lead the ride with Pete trailing behind as sweep. We rode a lot of trails I have not been down before. With the help of the GPS and a bit of local knowledge we managed a good combination of trails with very little back tracking. Neil picked up a flat rear and after several attempts at a repair, Chris got him going again. I stopped for a regroup and after some time decided to go back to see what the holdup was. The corner man system worked its magic again. We simply followed the path of the riders marking the corners, picked them up on the way through and got everyone back to where Neil was working on the wheel.

I was told Buddha stepped of the "Mother ship" on a corner and took 10 minutes to get the big girl fired back up again. You can't beat that electric leg!!!!!!!! He does get the big XR around quick but did comment at the end of the ride he would like something a bit smaller for Metro rides.

We stopped for another rest at a spot with a bit of a jump. I encouraged a few to have a go so I could snap some pics. Wez picked up the SOTD award after landing in a section of water and mud and loosing the bike from under him. Choko was another to give it a go hoping to get a new intro page pic showing his new found abilities.

Although we clicked up less than 7o k's I really enjoyed the ride. It has been a long time between Metro rides and I am looking forward to getting out there heaps of time during the winter.

Is this a West Coast Safari Tour?????????

Tiger putting on his under riding gear always reminds me of a scene at of the Rocky Picture Show.

The Group get ready

The new fellow gets a bit tired on the trails.

Neil and Chris repair the flat.
