Me and the boys down here in lovely hilly singletrack land decided after last years lanos
run success was so much of a blast we rebooked the same weekend and decided to call an
Offical Crustys ride again to get a hit of some wedge and some fast inland tracks.
So we rocked up in to lano fri arvo and settled in then hit the dunes the rest of the day
before the planned ride sat morning ..
Later thinking maybe getting here a lot later fri arvo would of been a better idea as making
it impossible to ride friday at all in the dunes as all i managed to do was tweak my left
knee in the strangest angle ive seen !!
and geoff managing to get some flying lessons but forgot the landing ones resulting in some
suspected cracked ribs bruised ego and a face that looked like he had gone a few rounds with
mike tyson grounding him out for sat !

Saturday kicked of at 8:30 am sharp as we rolled in the offroad carpark the 4 guys that made
the trip were ready to rock so after a short and sweet riders meeting from Colmc we decided
on the destination being cataby via the inland trails then across to wedge then lano Colmc
leading and Choko riding the broom.
There was minimal to no dust as we got a bit of rain leaving the carpark and finding the
trails already damp to our suprise!!
Making the 20 odd km section that everyone hates a real treat this time finding some very
fast sections with only a few sightings of the famous skippy so far especially in the later
part of this run as i finally got top gear pinned hoping to see Colmc's back tyre
somewhere only to scare the shit out of my self with the sight of half a dozen or more
skippys bounding across just infront of me reducing my pace quite a bit ..

All making it to cataby with no bike or rider issues besides maybe some sore forearms and
some sandblasting a very fast and smooth run indeed
after a refuel and a bite to eat and the usual bike talk we saddled up for the assault
onwards wedge taking the road north then a gravel section towards the best section of track
!! as Colmc said FAST with a capital F we all took of in the usual mixed up order within the
lead n sweep and managed a few overtaking moves here and there on the beautifull very fast
section this is so fast its naughty LOL one section i witnessed matt try and take on skippy
side on closley followed by ric catching the footage on helmet cam !!the kanga and rider
leaving a few stains somewhere on that track im sure LOL
Colmc set a blistering pace and was not seen till the end only when he stopped and waited
for us mere mortals.

Off onwards wedge via the usual windy off camber corners and rises gave some of the guys a
few nice thrills but no offs so smiles all round
Seems they have put a silly road right through the track since last year so a few stop and
looks were needed as water trucks dont stop.
Onward into wedge had the usual dose of ignorant 4wdrivers thinking they owned the track had
a break and chat on the famous stretch of beach upon going Choko found why they have 2 bolts
holding footpeg/stands in and zip tying it to the frame to get back to base.
Majority ruled we go back via the 4wd track to lano some because of fuel reasons even though
we had the fuel tanker of Jackos DRZ and had a good run with hardly any 4wds coming up the
wrong way with the pace really picking up towards the latter part trying to dodge the odd
pile of cap rock seemed to be the only bit to slow us down and still bugger all dust finally
making it to the carpark and everyone agreeing it was a top ride and a total of about 160
odd kms smiles all round....

A big thanks to Colmc for coming up and giving us a great destination and leading the ride
and Choko for riding Sweep flawlessly cheers buddy! as well as a thanks to jacko and andrew
for coming up as well ...
Thanks Guys
we are making this an annual yearly event for us ...
