Little Katys First Day Out
5 of us all were keen for a ride on sat after wayne called a ride so waynovb, mick530, andy400,drzsteve, and me. to be a casual ride as wayno was running in his brand spanking exc350, weather forecast was great so it was on. coming from joondalup mr organised was an hour early drinking coffee waiting on the boys. trouble was dumb arse here was on SW hwy not the albany 80 odd km away, doh!! strike one.the boys were awesome and prepared to wait, legends or what, thanks again. so 1hr early to 1hr late...
...so finally booted, sorted(kind of, left my body armour at home-strike 2!) and ready to ride out from nrth bannister 3ways roadhouse. wayno's son mike leading and due to to small size group we basically stuck together grouping up whenever i was laying under my bike, which was often-serious! our first re group andy had taken a knock and decided to sit the ride out and wait for us at the cars,no sense making something worse i reckon all good.so down to 4, mike leading thru a variety of trails mainly awesome single track smashing thru whoops and large puddles sometimes laying in them, me, srike 3. We zig zagged thru the bush wayne and mike knew there way round and we crossed and rode a few tracks we knew from darins metro-bannister ride, great trails an nice damp loamy dirt,wicked! a few showers but nothing too serious... ...there were a few other bikes around but no drama. no bike trouble apart from a bit of a miss in mikes big kato. no injurys, andy's turned out ok. everyone had a stack or two. i had more than the whole of last season i reckon, must of left mojo at home with armour. wayne was spewing as he paid for the ktm "keep the wheels on the ground" optional extra, doesn't work- apparently! the little ktm is broken in and a little run in, it looks great and i'm jealous. my vote for rider of the day is mick530 for leading all day. and i scoop everything else, stack of the day, tool of the day, hog award the whole lot! yup only been to bannister bout 10 times before double doh!! cheers again for waiting for me boys i had a wicked day  WaynoNB ride  WaynoNB ride |
