Just a quick report for a quick mid week bash. I had found some weird looking stuff on the net which included a “Flying V” and “3 Dots”, all of which looked like some sort of crop circle stuff. Jacko and Easty quickly piped up “That’s live firing ranges and possibly a mortar range, better not go there. Never to be put off we booted up at the Gnangara ORV area (more dangerous that any live firing ranges I reckon) and set off to see what we could find. Eddy took on the sweep in some dusty conditions and dispute fingers looking very dirty when we returned, that clever Eddy seemed to dodge all the dirt and I couldn’t see a speck on him, he trashed the fluoro sweep jacket though.

Lots of soft deep sand and a few whoops (my archenemy) but some good overgrown 4x4 tracks and we got within a whisper of the Pinjar ORV. Found a fenced of firing range and followed the fence for a while. Off to the loop track and we had hit 40ks. Set the GPS for home and over to the “Flying V” as a stop over. Found a scary looking sign fallen over near a crossroad and the ‘Flying V’ idea was abandoned for good. Big bullets up that way!

Back to the cars ducking in out of any sidetracks I could find and altogether not bad for a Monday.

ROTD was a close call between Eddy and finger but I award it to fingers for completing the induction to sandgroping as we call it in the west here. Well done.

Andy 400.
